Summer School Holidays with Wagga Library

The library has free craft, colouring-in, board games and our Xbox Kinect available every day of the Summer school holidays (Thur Dec 19 - Thur Jan 30), in our Level 0 Children's Area.

There's also a huge range of programs and activities, at the library and around Wagga's LGA. Many of these are FREE, but please note that children under 16 need a responsible parent/guardian to stay for the duration of the event.

Sunshine Storytime @ the Botanic Gardens

Sunshine Storytime at the Botanic Gardens is everything you already love about Storytime, but in the beautiful surroundings of Wagga's Botanic Gardens.

There'll be picture books, songs, and craft, on Mon Jan 6, from 9:30-10:30am.

It's all FREE, and no bookings required.

Sunshine Storytime @ Riverside

The interconnected playground equipment at the Riverside is green and grey, and reminiscent of Wagga's Water Whizz.

Storytime at the Riverside Precinct is everything you already love about Storytime, but in the beautiful surroundings of Wagga's Riverside Precinct.

There'll be picture books, songs, and craft, on Wed Jan 15, and Thur Jan 23, from 9:30-10:30am.

It's all FREE, and no bookings required. Find us near the Riverside Adventure Playground.

Summer Holiday Reading Challenge

Can you read a comic or graphic novel? How about a book by an Australian author?

Keep it up, and you could read enough to get 5 squares in a row on your Summer Holiday Reading Challenge card! Or even all 25 squares!

Tak to library staff to collect your card, use it to keep a list of all your Summer reading, then bring your completed card to the library by January 31 to collect your reading challenge prize!

Galore Watercolour Printmaking Workshop

Join artist Elaine Camlin at Galore Hall in a playful printmaking workshop! Use watercolour paint and leaves to create botanical prints and patterns. Explore different colour combinations and leaf shapes, then be surprised by the shapes and lines left behind.

This event will be held in Galore Hall, Tue 14 Jan at 2pm, Tickets are free but bookings are essential.

Children under 16 must be accompanied by a responsible adult throughout the event.

Going Places: Authors on Tour

We're very excited to welcome award-winning author Sandhya Parappukkaran to Wagga, for a very special storytime session for all ages!

Sandhya will read with us, and you'll have a chance to have a chat with her, buy a book and have it signed, and have some delicious morning tea!

Tue 21 Jan, from 10:30 - 11:30am, at the library.

Bookings essential. Please book a ticket for every person attending - no need to book one for babies under 12 months of age.

Family Movie Fridays

These holidays, our Family Movie Fridays will have an Aussie Movie theme! Which family-friendly home-grown modern classic could it be?

No need to book, just come into the cool of the Children's Area, get comfy and enjoy!

Fridays Jan 3, 10, 17, 24 and 31. All titles are rated G. Screenings begin at 10:30am, and each film runs approx. 90 mins.

Please note: a responsible parent or guardian is required to remain for the duration of the event.
