NSW Premier's Reading Challenge

The 2026 NSW Premier's Reading Challenge runs from Mon 23 February until Friday 18 September.

The Premier's Reading Challenge (PRC) is not a competition but a challenge to each student to read, to read more, and to read more widely.

The Challenge aims to encourage a love of reading for leisure and pleasure in students, and to enable them to experience quality literature.

The PRC is open to all NSW students in Kindergarten to Year 10, in governmentindependentCatholic and home schools.

Ask your school for details of student registration, or visit the PRC website to do it yourself.

We have thousands of PRC titles, far too many to shelve in a separate section; instead, they can be found throughout the library, and identified by a sticker on the spine. Just ask library staff for help finding stickers like the ones pictured below, for K-23-45-67-9 and 9 plus titles.

A series of books showing their spines with a range of Premier's Reading Challenge stickers attached.
