National Simultaneous Storytime 2025

This year, Wagga's celebration of National Simultaneous Storytime headed outdoors to the Riverside precinct, so we could really do justice to 2025's book selection, The Truck Cat, by Deborah Frenkel and Danny Snell.

All attending kids had the chance to sit behind the wheel of an honest-to-goodness working truck, made very nice and safe for pre-schoolers thanks to Wagga City Council driver Russell, and his early morning cleaning efforts.

Bob the robocat, one of the newer members of the library team, kept a variety of kids company while they prepared for stories and songs.

Then, after a group countdown to midday, Peter read aloud the story of Tinka the truck cat and his human companion Yacoub, followed by more picture books, some singing, and take-home craft and colouring-in to wrap things up.

Our regular Storytime program takes place in the library during school terms, at 10am and 11am on Wednesdays and Fridays. It's completely free, but bookings help us to keep the numbers managaeable, and can be made 24 hours prior to each session.
