I drew a dragonfly, wings spread, shimmering in the white light of the day.
It waltzes over a field of cloudy white dandelions, creating a luminous effect, and glides past the flowers, bringing the beauty of the moment to its highest level. The dragonfly’s glimmering, sapphire body makes even the boldest colours look dull, and it contrasts beautifully to the bright, perfect day.
When the dragonfly soars, the birds shy away with quiet respect for this creature so generous with its wealth. As it glides, it showers its kingdom in a glittering shower of bright ruby and gold, lavishing it with treasures more valuable and beautiful than the Rajah dressed in all his glory.
Dragonflies are featured in many poems in Indian culture, symbolising the beauty and happiness in creation.
