Majida's Peacock Animation

In my Yazidi religion, the peacock is a blessed and special symbol.

We call it Tawûsî Melek (طاووس ملک) and it has an important spiritual role, representing light, goodness, beauty and wisdom.

It’s part of our festivals, temples and decorations and, for us, symbolises peace, respect and dignity. It’s common for Yazidi families to have a framed picture of Tawûsî Melek hanging in their homes.

I always wear a necklace of Tawûsî Melek, too. It reminds me of my family and I feel peaceful when I have it on.
