For the last ten years, Wagga Library has been proud to work with Sydney Writers' Festival, as part of its Live & Local program.
Thanks to the Festival, every year since 2016 we've presented livestreams of events direct from Sydney to Wagga Council's Meeting Room and Historic Council Chambers. This year the event ran from Thur May 21 to Sun May 24.
Every year, locals tell us how much they love seeing panel debates and hearing enjoy great writers in conversation, while enjoying a cup of tea and a biscuit, and without having to leave their home town.
Staff at the library prepare all manner of authors' books from throughout the library's collection, and bring them to the livestream events, so if a conversation leaves an audience member wanting more, it's waiting for them.
