School Holidays: It's Uke-in' Time!

This past week, thanks to the Ukumamas, plenty of kids and their grown-ups have learned how fun and easy it can be to play the ukulele.

The Ukumamas, Dixie and Ronnette Chandelle, visited Uranquinty, the Wagga Wagga Civic Theatre, and Ladysmith, in a whirlwind tour of the region, teaching and performing for well over a hundred eager audience members across the three venues.

The library provided the ukuleles, a brand new set of instruments purchased especially for this program. This won't be the ukes' only time in the spotlight: once they've rested a little, they'll be tuned up and back for future programs.

There are plenty more school holiday programs to come until October 11th, visiting stops in the suburbs and villages, as well as at the library itself. View them all here.

Dixie and Ronette Chandelle, both sporting impressive beehive hairdos, sing from the stage at Ladysmith, one a green checked dress smiling at the audience; the other in hot pink, eyes closed in song.
