The Voices of Insight Collection is on display on the library's Level One shelves, near the Adult non-fiction Art & Craft titles.
The collection features descriptions of people’s lived experience of domestic, family and sexualised violence, while keeping their identities private.
These stories have been developed through an extensive interview process with Insight Exchange, an initiative that provides free information, insights and reflection materials to people in any community, service or system.
Artist Louise Whelan has collaborated with each of the interview participants, without learning their identities, to illuminate the visual metaphors and symbols used in their descriptions.
We invite you to visit the display whenever the library is open. Each artwork bears a QR code leading to more information, and amongst the pictures are informative cards and flyers for you to take home.
