The Wagga Wagga City Library Book Club is for library members who would like to lead or join a book club across the Wagga Wagga Local Government Area.
Overview:
Groups wishing to get together once a month to share their love of reading with others are invited to form a club and nominate a group leader.
Each group can have up to 10 members with a suggested minimum of 6.
Fees: $400 (including GST) for membership and administration per club to be paid in January. This covers the group until the program concludes in December each year.
Clubs organise their own venues.
Up to 12 kits each year will be available to each group. The book club program offers a large range of titles, including fiction and non-fiction. Book Club members are encouraged to suggest new titles through the purchase suggestion form on our website: https://waggalibrary.com.au/borrow/purchase-suggestions-and-inter-library-loans
Membership
The Book Club Program is only available to members of Wagga Wagga City Library. For non-library members joining is easy: simply visit the Wagga Wagga City Library or your nearest Agile Library Service and provide proof of current residential address.
Each club is to have maximum of 10 members. A minimum of 6 members is recommended. A group leader must be nominated and will be responsible for liaising with the library. The group leader is also responsible for collecting annual membership fees and ensuring that all book club members have paid their fees. If a club wishes to have more than 10 members, they are responsible for locating additional copies of the books.
Membership Entitlements
Members of the WWCL Book Club program are entitled to borrow up to 12 kits per year. The funds raised through membership fees will help to finance additional book club kits.
Titles can be selected when visiting Wagga Wagga City Library or reserved online via website: waggalibrary.com.au
The library will provide tips on running a successful book club.
WWCL Book Club Kits
WWCL Book Club Kits comprise 10 copies of the same title, together with background notes and discussion questions. Where available, kits may also contain a DVD and/or an MP3 audio version of the title.
Book club kits are issued under one club membership card, which will be issued to the nominated WWCL Book Club leader upon registration and payment of WWCL Book Club membership fees.
A range of titles will be offered, including fiction and non-fiction. WWCL Book Club members are encouraged to make suggestions for future book purchases each calendar year.
The library welcomes these suggestions but cannot undertake to purchase every title suggested.
