About Local Studies
During the library's temporary closure, our Local Studies collection is not available.
We look forward to making it available again when we re-open. Please see below for more information under normal circumstances.
The Wagga Wagga Local Studies Collection is a special collection that provides a focus for the preservation and access to documents detailing the development of our local community. Material from the Local Studies collection is not for loan but can be accessed during normal library opening hours.
Items in the collection include books, reports/environmental studies, newspaper microfilm, maps, photographs, journals, local vertical files, videos, sound recordings, oral histories and family history materials; resources available range from those suitable for use by primary school students to detailed data suitable for advanced research at a tertiary level.
The Local Studies Collection benefits from the involvement of our community through help from volunteers and knowledge and expertise of local historians. If you have items that would be appropriate for our collection that you are willing to donate or allow us to use, please consult with the Local Studies Librarian. Any background information to photographs in our collection and written accounts of your early memories of the local area are also welcome.
